Research To Practice
Helping to bring the fruits of basic behavioral and biomedical research to practice is an important goal of our Mental Retardation Developmental Disabilities Research Center. For example, since its earliest days, Shriver behavioral researchers have emphasized research problems relevant to improving methods for teaching and evaluating people with mental retardation and limited language (behavioral technology). As another example, biomedical research at the Shriver Center has led to improved methods for detecting inborn errors of metabolism that cause developmental disabilities.
