Diagram of Steps of Immunohistochemistry The Molecular Pathology Core Facility (MPCF) of the Neuroscience Integration and Support Core of the MRDDRC is an excellent resource for the UMass neuroscience research community, providing routine histology as well as specialized immunolocalization services.

We have available: 

  • the capability to process brain tissue, beginning with the animal (rodents from embryos to adults), including a variety of tissue fixation methods
  • a wide variety of microtomy techniques (frozen – sledge or cryostat, vibratome, and paraffin)
  • protocols for immunocytochemistry (ABC-POD, fluorochromes)and in situ hybyridzation  (AP-DIG)
