Brain Awareness Week Activities (1996)

Jim demonstrating for studentsThe local participants in the first National Brain Awareness Week conducted in 1996 were fifth grade students from the Brackett Elementary School in Arlington, Massachusetts. Ms. D'Agostino's class of students toured working laboratory demonstrations in six areas of neuroscience research at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center in Waltham, Massachusetts: 1) learning & memory, 2) developmental neurobiology, 3) electron microscopy, 4) medical genetics, 5) video microscopy and 6) visual perception.
