Science Education Outreach
The Shriver Center currently supports a variety of science education outreach activities. These include: 1) Science Education Partnership Award, 2) National Brain Awareness Week Activities, 3) elementary school visitsand 4) lab tours. For many years, the Center sponsored minority high school students who spent the summer months working in the Center’s research laboratories. Throughout its history, our Center has provided technical assistance to preschool and school programs in New England, especially for schools that specialize in difficult-to-teach children. In cooperation with the Waltham High School Health Sciences and Audiovisual Departments, Dr. James Crandalland Dr. Richard McKnight have produced a 60 minute videotape presentation on the principles and operation of an electron microscope. The film is periodically broadcast on the local cable access channel.
SEPA Project No. R25RR13433 is sponsored by the National Center For Research Resources
in the NIH.
