Quantitative Diagnosis of Dysmorphology Using 3D Imaging Techniques

Curtis Deutsch

In order to accelerate data acquisition for dysmorphology studies, we have adopted new 3D surface scanning techniques, most recently stereo photogrammetry. We are developing these techniques for quantifying dysmorphic features, and are creating a relational database for an extensive normative database in collaboration with the author of the standard craniofacial atlas, Dr Leslie Farkas. These methods may find application in medical genetics, surgical planning, and developmental neurobiology.
