Research Compliance

The safety and welfare of participants in human subjects research and the regulatory compliance related to the involvement of animals in research and in working with biohazardous materials has always a primary concern of research oversight at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS). Whether funded by federal agencies, industrial sponsors or institutional funds, all research projects receive careful review and consideration by the appropriate institutional representatives and committees.

In recent years the research enterprise has grown significantly at UMMS, leading a dramatic increase in scientific breakthroughs. With the growth of research, we continue to maintain our high standards for the oversight of research.
