Breast Imaging

The Division of Breast Imaging is directed by Lawrence J. Moss, MD.  An average 7,000 patient examinations and procedures are performed annually using the facility's four mammographic units with an additional 1,100 breast ultrasound examinations and procedures.  Screening, diagnostic, as well as invasive and non-invasive studies are performed daily, often in close collaboration with the UMass Memorial Comprehensive Breast Center. Breast MRI is performed at the medical center's Memorial Campus, with diagnostic digital mammography scheduled to begin in 2008.
