Seward

Greg Seward, MSHCA, LADC-I, LSW, CAS, CADC, CTTS-M
As the Director of the Tobacco-Free Initiative, Director of the Tobacco Consultation Services, and instructor in the UMass Medical School of Medicine, Mr. Seward both oversees the ongoing development and implementation of the tobacco policies and environment, staff, and patient supports for UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School including supporting UMass Memorial Health Care member hospitals and organizations. He has lectured on organizational change as well as taught on tobacco treatment as part of consulting with health care organizations in the USA and Canada. His medical and research career has been in service to hospital and healthcare organizations, faculty and staff as well as patients with serious medical, mental illness and substance abuse disorders. A sought after consultant and speaker, he has consulted to ASAM on their Nicotine Public Policies and their Diagnostic and Descriptive Terminology Action Group. He has presented on Nicotine Dependence and Treatment to the Cape Cod and West Coast Symposiums on Addictive Disorders, The Partners Annual Tobacco Treatment Retreat, and The Spectrum Health Systems Annual Women’s Addiction Conference. His photographic work has been chosen twice to be exhibited in the UMass Medical School Library's Artist in Residency Series.

Sun Kim

Sun Kim, PhD, APRN, TTS
Sun Kim is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is a certified clinical specialist in mental health nursing and recipient of the Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) from the National Institute on Drug Abuse/NIH. She currently conducts a clinical research trial of a culturally tailored tobacco dependence treatment for Korean Americans. She is interested in tobacco dependence treatment for underserved populations such as Asian Americans and mental health patients who may have actual and perceived barriers to accessing the treatment. She is also interested in gender differences in nicotine addiction and its treatment outcome.

N Day

Nicole Day, MEd , CTTS
Nicole joined the staff at UMass Memorial Hospital as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist in August, 2013.  She was previously employed at Spectrum Health Systems as a Master Level Clinician who had been servicing both inpatient and outpatient counseling with people with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Disorders. While there she conducted tobacco education classes as well as smoking cessation with both clients and the community since 2005. Nicole is a member of several committees throughout the community (Counsel to End Nicotine Addiction in Recovery, and Anti Worcester Tobacco Task Force) to encourage individuals working toward personal growth. Nicole recently completed the Certification for Tobacco Treatment Specialist which will add to her level of commitment to provide quality care. Nicole holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education and a Masters in Education.
