Message from the Chair

Congratulations on the admission of your son or daughter to the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) and welcome to the UMass Medical School community.  UMass Medical School recognizes the role parents and families play in this phase of your child’s education.  The UMass Medical School Parents Association was established to support the students, educate parents and nurture the relationship between the parents and the School.  The UMMS Parents Association is a vital link between parents and the University.  It enables parents to both actively participate in the life of their son/daughter and interact with and lend support to other parents.

The Association is open to all parents.  We are dedicated to keeping you up to date on School news and providing you educational programs and events to better your understanding of what your son or daughter is learning and experiencing at medical school.

As part of the Parents Association, you can receive a monthly e-newsletter, which includes news and event listings.  We also encourage you to visit our web page frequently, http://www.umassmed.edu/foundation/alumni/parents.aspx, to gather general information and view upcoming events.  I would like to invite you to become involved in our programs and events.  This is your chance to demonstrate your appreciation and support for the high quality education our students receive.

UMass Medical School is a leader in so many ways.  As parents, you will be amazed at what and how your son or daughter learns and thankful, as we are, that he or she is a student here.  If you are interested in knowing what our students are learning, the curriculum calendar is located on the School’s website, www.umassmed.edu.
