Resources for Journalists
The Office of Public Affairs & Publications staff includes a Media Relations team of experienced public relations professionals who are dedicated to meeting the needs of journalists. The Media Relations staff can answer questions about the University of Massachusetts Medical School, as well as arrange for and coordinate interviews and secure locations for film, video and photo shoots.
In addition to providing Media Relations support to the University of Massachusetts Medical School, we also provide these services on behalf of UMass Memorial Medical Center and the corporate offices of UMass Memorial Health Care. Because of the integral partnership of the Medical School and UMass Memorial, this allows us to provide you with consistent information with the convenience of one call to our office to request interviews with our clinical faculty.
We are dedicated to helping journalists get complete and accurate stories and we will work hard to put you in contact with the most appropriate university people to speak on a particular subject or issue. We want UMass Medical School expertise to be readily available as you prepare stories and story ideas.
To speak to a member of the Media Relations team, call 508-856-2000. Normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. For after-hours calls, contact information will be available at the same number.
If you are interested in being added to the news release distribution list, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
The University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester shares a campus with UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus. As such, we must maintain a private and comfortable environment for patients to the Medical Center. Thus, all film and video camera crews and still photographers must obtain authorization from the Office of Public Affairs & Publications to shoot on campus. Reporters interested in coming on campus, attending events or arranging interviews must contact the Media Relations team.
