UMASS MEMORIAL OPENS NEW PEDIATRIC FAMILY RESOURCE LIBRARY

March 6, 2002

Worcester, Mass. - UMass Memorial Medical Center has opened a Pediatric Family Resource Library to serve its pediatric patients and their families. The library was created with a $28,000 grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners to the Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, UMass Memorial's academic partner.

The Pediatric Family Resource Library, which is conveniently located in the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic on the second floor of the Benedict Building, will be staffed by knowledgeable librarians and will offer books, videotapes, pamphlets and Internet resources. "The collection we have put together meets the needs of those searching for the most current information regarding their children's conditions and care," said Christopher Stille, MD, UMass Memorial pediatrician and physician advisor to the library program.
