UMMS and UMass Memorial Art Show on display through March at Umass Medical School

WORCESTER, Mass. - Beginning March 6 in the Medical School Lobby, several faculty and staff members will showcase their artistic talents in the UMMS and UMMHC Art Show: Faculty, Staff and Student Artwork. The exhibition will feature paintings, pastels, and photographs from seven artists representing both the Medical School and UMass Memorial communities. The artists participating in the show are: Diana Bergin of Spencer; Michelle Deignan of Worcester; Jeannine Gemme of Worcester; J. Barry Hanshaw, MD, of Boylston; Rose Herrmann of Northborough; Gretchen Jones of Northborough; Ann McDougle of Paxton; and Alfred Yankauer of Amherst.

The UMMS and UMass Memorial Art Show will be on public display through April1 in the Medical School lobby, and open for viewing from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Three additional exhibits on display include: "Courtyards and Flowers," watercolors by Rita Galvin, Level I of the Benedict Building; "Block Island Views," watercolors by Annette Rusin in Clinic III, Level I of the University hospital; and "Paintings Without Borders," watercolors by Doris Carter in Levels II and III of Two Biotech. These exhibits are open for viewing during regular business hours.

"What's on View at UMMS Galleries" is sponsored by the University of Massachusetts Medical School Committee for Arts & Humanities. Exhibits featured in the Benedict Building, Clinic II and Biotech II are also made possible in collaboration with ARTSWorcester.
