SNMA is one of the oldest national medical organizations committed to promoting the advancement of students and professionals of color in medicine as well as advocating for the improvement of health care for the underserved. Community service is the heart and soul of SNMA!

UMASS Medical School , we are privileged to work with an incredibly diverse community. Members of our community come from all over the world including Brazil, Kenya, Vietnam, Lebanon, Dominican Republic, Nigeria, China, Puerto Rico, Syria, Thailand, Ghana, Russia, Liberia, and many more.

Through our various programs, we are working to increase health education in the community as well as provide mentoring and academic support to elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate college students. We are also committed to increasing cultural awareness and competency among medical students, physicians, and hospital staff.
