Mission Statement
The goal of the Division of Grants and Special Projects is: 1) to manage educational grants, which currently include the Macy Initiative in Health Communication and Macy Mentorship Program in Health Communication Education; the Pfizer Grant in Sexual Health; the Educational Development in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (EDCAM) grant; and the Edward J. Stemmler Medical Education Research Grant; 2) to support and collaborate with mission-critical projects for the School of Medicine, including initiatives conducted through the Office of the Dean (accreditation processes and other administrative projects), and OME-based special projects; 3) to foster interd?isciplinary and interinstitutional collaborations, involving UMMS, GSN and GSBS faculty and students, the UMMHC clinical system, community-based organizations, and other key partners in the design and implementation of special projects; and 4) to submit grant applications in order to secure funding support for new curriculum development and special medical education projects in support of the Medical School’s mission.
