Message from the Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs
Welcome to the Office of Medical Education (OME) web site!
The Office of Medical Education at UMass provides critical support to accomplish the School of Medicine's educational mission. The OME offers educational services, expertise, evaluation, and mentoring to both faculty and students. In addition to serving as the center of curriculum planning, the office supports a diverse number of courses and educational programs including the Physician, Patient and Society course, the Longitudinal Preceptorship Program, the Interclerkship Program, the Standardized Patient Program, the Summer Research Assistantship Program, the Senior Scholars Program, and the International Medical Education Program. We are also a center for innovation in teaching, including academic computing, medical education research, and the development and implementation of educational grants.
The OME works in collaboration with a broad range of partners, including campus- and community-based faculty; UMMS students; UMMS offices; programs and departments; and educational affiliates based locally, regionally and statewide, to provide a comprehensive array of resources and expertise in support of teaching. The Office is committed to building on its educational collaborations and partnerships and promoting the participation of UMMS faculty and students.
