Health Education and Training
The OCP Education and Training Program was developed in 1998 to improve the utilization and delivery of healthcare services among selected populations with limited access to health care. Through the use of our extensive University-based resources, OCP can assess, plan and execute educational strategies that are tailored to the unique needs of your healthcare organization. With considerable expertise in working with Massachusetts Medicaid (MassHealth) and other public sector agencies our staff and consultants offer:

Project Examples
- Clinical Education Projects, to provide training and technical support to MassHealth providers to improve patient care for targeted populations.
- Judicious Use of Antibiotics, to reduce physician use of antibiotics to treat viral upper respiratory infections among children ages six months to six years.
- Diabetes Guideline Initiative, to improve the care and management of type 2 diabetes among MassHealth members receiving care at four clinical practices.
- Chlamydia Education Project, to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chlamydia among adolescents 15 – 17 years of age enrolled in MassHealth.
- Clinical Pathway Development, to develop clinical pathways and correlating encounter forms for UMASS Correctional Health Care clinicians.
- Cross Cultural Clinical Guideline Project, to identify the steps and processes essential to delivering quality care to culturally diverse populations.
- Massachusetts Adolescent Awareness Campaign (MAAGPAC), a public awareness campaign to increase adolescents’ awareness of the benefits of annual well-visits to their primary care providers.
- Massachusetts Chronic Disease Improvement Network (MCDIN), a clearinghouse for resources and information in the management of chronic illness.
