Scholarship Program

Eligibility

Each year since 2003 the MassHealth Access Program (MAP) of the Office of Community Programs (OCP) offers up to three scholarships annually of $40,000 each, based on funding availability. As condition of that award, a student agrees to work full-time for two years in a community public health setting upon graduation. To be eligible for the award, students...

  • Must be a third year student (entering their fourth year) in good academic standing at a Massachusetts Dental School.
  • Should have a record that chronicles an interest in Public Health.
  • Must be a United States Citizen or hold a Permanent Resident Card.
  • Are preferably a Massachusetts Resident.

Application Process

Dental Student Award Applications are available to students through the Dean of each dental school. Awards are granted based on application reviews and on interviews with dental school administrators and MAP personnel. Click here to view the program brochure

Award Recipients

Scholarships are awarded at the end of the third year of dental school. The community placements begin upon graduation. Two students from Harvard and one student from Tufts were recently selected to receive 2007 awards. In 2008 awards went to Boston University and Tufts.
