Scholarship Program

Eligibility

Each year since 2003, the MassHealth Access Program (MAP) of the Office of Community Programs (OCP) offers an award of $40,000 to three eligible dental students who work full time for two years in a public health setting upon graduation. To be eligible for the award, students:

  • Must be a third year student entering their fourth year in good academic standing at a Massachusetts Dental School.
  • Should have a record that chronicles an interest in Public Health.
  • Must be a United States Citizen or hold a Permanent Resident Card.
  • Are preferably a Massachusetts Resident.

Application Process

Dental Student Award Applications are available to students through the Dean of each dental school. Awards are granted based on application reviews and interviews with dental school administrators and MAP personnel. Click here to view the program brochure

Award Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected at the end of their third year in dental school and community placements begin upon graduation from their fourth year. Two students from Harvard and one student from Tufts were recently selected to receive 2007 awards.
