Infrastructure Grants

Purpose

In an effort to increase access to oral health care for MassHealth members, the Office of Community Programs (OCP) through its MassHealth Access Program (MAP), provides seed money to assist community-based organizations to establish or expand oral health services to their communities. The focus of these awards varies from year to year based on oral health priorities. Awards have been made in such areas as new oral health service start ups and service expansion at community health centers, school based programs, and oral surgery services. Grants are for equipment, renovation and start up costs, particularly staffing.

Award Process

Since 1999, 26 awards have been made including: 35 new operatories statewide, 12 new school-based programs, and six oral surgery programs. Awards are competitive and are solicited through the state procurement system (COMMPASS) via a request for proposal process.
