Other Initiatives
In FY06, Office of Community Programs (OCP) awarded $75,000 through an RFP process to each of the following networks:
- Cape and Vineyard Community Health Center, a consortium of five health centers, established to assess and respond to health needs on a regional basis with an initial focus on strengthening mental health service access. Funding supports administrative leadership and the hiring of an Executive Director.
The Network for Rural Health Care a consortium of two health centers and two hospital systems which serves as a resource to the Western Massachusetts rural health community by providing educational opportunities, networking, and regional collaboration in the sharing of best practices to promote clinical excellence and organizational efficiencies. Funding supports the Network to hire staff and to address priority objectives such as recruitment and retention of clinical and skilled management positions; developing information systems that support clinical and business functions, conduct needs assessment of individuals in the Greater Berkshire service area who have had difficulty accessing health care, and develop strategies to address the identified needs.
