Infrastructure Development and Consultation
Many community health centers (CHCs) face a dual challenge of needing to expand their program capacities to better serve their communities while managing under increased financial pressure. Office of Community Programs (OCP) provides needed expertise and/or financial support to assist CHCs in strengthening their operational performance and in developing new program capacities. Examples of OCP assistance include:
Programs
- Funding to establish or expand oral health initiatives, open new satellites, create school based preventive programs and add oral surgery services. To date, OCP has provided 53 awards to CHCs to support operatory development, equipment purchase, staffing ,and program coordination.

- Funding and programmatic support to six regional collaborations of CHC and community mental health centers to work toward better integration of behavioral health and medical care services.
