EKG exams for student athletes debated

Darshak Sanghavi, MD, assistant professor of pediatrics and chief of pediatric cardiology at UMass Memorial Health Care, and David Kane, MD, assistant professor of pediatrics, talked to the Telegram & Gazette about whether electrocardiograms should be required for young athletes. The issue arose after the tragic death of a 12-year-old boy this summer at a Holden soccer camp who was taking part in a low-impact drill when he collapsed.
