UMass Medical School reunion weekend is May 5-6

UMass Medical School is holding a reunion weekend on Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, for graduates of the School of Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Graduate School of Nursing.

Christine K. Cassel, MD, SOM ’76, is presenting Grand Rounds on Friday at 1 p.m., a lecture on Saturday at 2 p.m., and will be honored with an Alumni Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Cassel is the planning dean of the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, andpreviously served as the president and CEO of the National Quality Forum. She has also served as president and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the ABIM Foundation. Cassel’s lecture on Saturday is called, “The physician, the philosopher and the citizen: UMass Medical School opened the door.”
