Multi-Cultural Women’s Health Summit is April 29

UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School are holding the annual Multi-Cultural Women’s Health Summit on Saturday, April 29.

The event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is open to the public, will include a continental breakfast and healthy lunch; exercise and wellness sessions; and health screening assessments, including blood pressure, glucose, hearing and eye care.

UMMS researchers and physicians will present information on mental health, diet, exercise, racial stress and healthy heart tips during breakout sessions. Latoyia Edwards, an Emmy Award-winning morning news anchor from New England Cable News (NECN), will be the featured speaker.

New this year, several community sponsors will participate in the event, including Centro, Community Healthlink, the Department of Public Health, Family Health Center, Multicultural Wellness Center, Planned Parenthood, Pathways for Change, Women in Action and the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center.
