Recent national events inspired second-year medical students Jasmine Khubchandani and Solange Bayard to heighten awareness and spark dialogue on what it means to be culturally competent health care professionals within the context of a complex, multicultural society.

Khubchandani and Bayard, both members of the School of Medicine’s chapter of the National Student Medical Association, created a visual arts display that was unveiled on Aug. 20 in conjunction with an institution-wide rally for peace and justice held in the Medical School lobby.

The exhibit can now be viewed in the Lamar Soutter Library, where it will remain on display through Sept. 10.
