Student Body Committee to host annual auction to benefit COMECC

The Student Body Committee, in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Charitable Campaign (COMECC), will be hosting its annual auction on Friday, Jan. 10, in the Faculty Conference Room. All proceeds will benefit the Worcester County Food Bank.

Last year’s auction featured such unique student-donated items as a full-day sailing cruise in Buzzard’s Bay and Vineyard Sound, two hours of stick-shift driving lessons, vintage-inspired anatomical posters, a day of activities inspired by the movie Elf and dog therapy. This year’s auction items look equally promising: dumpling cooking lessons, hand-painted iPhone cases, locally harvested honey and a classic Sega Genesis game console are among the many items on offer.

The event is open to all UMMS students, staff and faculty. The dress code is cocktail attire. Food and beverages will be served. Last year, the auction raised more than $12,000.
