Assistive technologies support employees with disabilities

UMass Chan shows how during National Disability Employment Awareness Month

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the UMMS Disabilities Committee, Diversity and Equal Opportunity Office and Work Without Limits are sponsoring assistive technology and informational resource fairs in two UMass Medical School locations.

Representatives from the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Easter Seals, the Center for Independent Living of Worcester and the Medical School’s own Work without Limits initiative will demonstrate how technology can help people with disabilities succeed and excel in the workplace.

The exhibits for employees, students, residents, faculty and staff will be displayed on the Worcester campus in the hospital cafeteria on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and at the South Street campus in the cafeteria on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from noon to 1:30 p.m. For further information, send an email to Fernanda.gama@umassmed.edu.
