cfm-logo-hiresCNN International has rated the UMass Medical School Center for Mindfulness retreat in Ireland as one of the top 10 meditation retreats in the world.

The retreat, held at the Glen View Hotel and Leisure Club in Delgany, Ireland, offers a weeklong version of the acclaimed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, at UMMS in the 1970s. The article also mentions the annual research-based conference that the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society hosts. The scientific conference highlights academic research on how meditation impacts health care, as well as how mindfulness meditation changes the brain and the immune system.

The program offered at the retreat is a five-day version of mindfulness training called Mindfulness Tools for Living the Full Catastrophe, which the Center for Mindfulness offers at several locations every year.
