The Department of Environmental Health & Safety urges UMass Medical School students residing in area rentals to keep fire safety front and center at home as well as in the classroom and laboratory.
A helpful fire safety checklist for students living off campus is available from the National Fire Safety Association. Students are also encouraged to contact the Department of Environmental Safety for further assistance.
