Fourth-year medical students and twin sisters Julia and Lydia Parzych are featured in a May 29 WorcesterTelegram and Gazette article about their plans after commencement on June 2.

The sisters grew up in Auburn together, graduated from Auburn High School, graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees from Wellesley College and are becoming doctors after completing their studies at UMass Medical School.

Julia Parzych is headed to an orthopedic surgery residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Lydia Parzych will enter the anesthesiology residency program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

“Neither of my parents went to college. My father didn’t even finish high school. He worked in manufacturing in Worcester before retiring, and my mom is retiring soon from Holy Cross where she works in dining service. They are very proud of us,” Lydia said.
