Last year, members of the UMass Medical School community volunteered more than 71,000 hours in service to others, about half of which was volunteered right here in the Worcester area. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, the Office of Community and Government Relations is providing opportunities for new and returning volunteers to connect with local agencies and organizations that need help, with the goal of increasing the impact of the school’s volunteer contributions.
The fourth annual Volunteer Fair will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the UMass Medical School campus in the Medical School building lobbies. As in years past, representatives from non-profit agencies have been invited to share information about their organizations and the volunteer opportunities they offer. More than 30 agencies will be represented.
Don’t miss this chance to find the agency that matches your desire to serve and your availability. Organizations range from national non-profits like the American Heart Association and Habitat for Humanity to local groups like Music Worcester and the African Community Education Program (see full list below).
