Consortium community engagement award deadline Jan. 15

Nominations for the 2013 Colleges of Worcester Consortium Community Engagement Awards for students and faculty are due on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding community engagement of faculty and students at the consortium’s member institutions. Nomination forms for outstanding individual students or student teams, as well as highly-engaged faculty members, should be forwarded electronically to Heather-Lyn Haley, PhD, assistant professor of family medicine & community health and medicine.

The UMass Medical School winners will be selected by Dean Terence R. Flotte, MD, the Celia and Isaac Haidak Professor of Medicine, executive deputy chancellor and provost, from a list of semi-finalists compiled by the campus Community Engagement Committee, which comprises faculty, staff, students and community partners. Winners from UMMS and other institutions will be recognized at a consortium-wide event to be held in March.

For information or a nomination form, contact Dr. Haley by email at Heather-Lyn.Haley@umassmed.edu.
