The UMass Medicine Cancer Walk kickoff breakfast takes place on Wednesday, July 25.
Volunteer team leaders for the annual UMass Medicine Cancer Walk will gather in the Blais Pavilion of the LRB for the event’s kickoff breakfast on Wednesday, July 25, at 8 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Participants will hear from walk organizers and learn about the most current research happening at UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial Health Care.
The UMass Medicine Cancer Walk provides funds for the UMass Medicine Cancer Center of Excellence, which continues to do extensive research in hopes of winning the fight against cancer. This year’s walk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 23, starting on the Campus Green at 10 a.m.
The 2011 walk attracted more than 10,000 participants. Over the last 13 years, the walk has raised more than $7 million in support of cancer research and care programs.
