WWL-TV in New Orleans talked to identical twin sisters Asia and Ashley Matthew about graduating from Xavier University with a 4.0 average in both chemistry and pre-med, and their future plans. The sisters have been accepted to the MD/PhD program at UMass Medical School and will enroll in the fall.

“I was ecstatic,” said Ashley. “My sister and I were jumping up and down and we fell over and ended up tripping each other because we were so happy. We didn’t think it would happen and it did.”

“This is the one thing that I’ve wanted for a long time and when you see it almost at your fingertips, you don’t want to do anything to let it slip,” said Asia.
