Creative writing winners to be honored 
Gerald F. Berlin Creative Writing competition recognizes talents of students and residents

Winners of the Gerald F. Berlin Creative Writing competition will be honored on Wednesday, April 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Rare Book Room of the Lamar Soutter Library. In addition to being recognized, each has been invited to read from his or her submission.
Held through the generous support of poet-physician Richard Berlin, MD, senior affiliate in psychiatry the Gerald F. Berlin Creative Writing competition recognizes the creative writing talents of students from all three schools and residency training programs. Poems or essays are submitted and judged blindly by a panel consisting of Dr. Berlin, Susan Tarrant, MA, clinical instructor in medicine, and David Hatem, MD, clinical associate professor of medicine.The competition is jointly sponsored by the offices of Student Affairs, Educational Affairs, and the Humanities in Medicine Committee, with support from the Lamar Soutter Library.
The first prize winner also receives a cash prize of $100 and will have his or her entry published in both
Worcester Medicine and the
Berkshire Medical Journal.
