Trobaugh, who is intercampus liaison for educational initiatives in the Office of Educational Affairs at UMass Medical School, dedicates four to six hours each week volunteering for various service organizations. Among them is Safe Homes, the only program in Central Massachusetts that provides specialized services to LGBTQ youth ages 14 to 23.
A member of the advisory board for Safe Homes, Trobaugh has arranged tours of UMass Medical School led by professionals in a variety of fields who are positive role models for LGBTQ youth. He also worked with the program’s Drop-in Peer Mentors to create a short film about Safe Homes, which will be previewed at the May 3 gala.
Tickets for the gala, which are available only in advance, are $75 each. Call 508-755-0333 or visit the Safe Homes web site for more information and to order tickets.
