Members of the UMass Medical School community will have an opportunity to speak with local practitioners and receive personal complementary treatments at the fifth annual Complementary and Integrative Therapies Expo. The expo will take place on Wednesday, April 3, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Faculty Conference Room.
In addition to exhibitors representing a range of therapies that are becoming increasingly integrated into modern medicine, the event will feature crafts, healthy food and live music by Vin Mitchell, Jr. A series of short lectures on several mind/body modalities will take place concurrently in Amphitheater I from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. The keynote address will be Expanding the Circle of the Mind Body Community.
Free and open to the public, the expo and lecture series are sponsored by the medical school’s Complementary and Alternative Medicine Elective, Integrative Health Academic Interest Group, Department of Psychiatry and Three Schools Committee, and the Motivact Group and Spirit of Change magazine. Contact expo coordinator Vinny Minichiello SOM ’13 for more information.
