In this Expert’s Corner video, Celia Schiffer, PhD, professor of biochemistry & molecular pharmacology, talks about her lab’s work to understand the molecular basis for drug resistance and the potential for developing very powerful anti-virals by addressing drug resistance during the drug design process.
“If we could make drugs that were more robust . . . by being a little smarter about how we do the drug design—we’re not going to get around evolution, but we can make it tougher by being smart about how we do it,” said Dr. Schiffer.
