The interview preceded the World Health Organization’s annual World No Tobacco Day, which will be observed this year on May 31. May also marks the fourth anniversary of the UMMS and UMass Memorial Tobacco Free Initiative, which prohibits smoking and the use of all tobacco products at both institutions to promote health and reduce the risks of exposure to second-hand smoke. The initiative continues to provide a range of resources to encourage and support individuals who wish to quit.
