Research and Teaching Interests
Dr. Baldor is the Vice Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He also serves as the Director of Community Based Education for the Medical School and the Director of Health Policy Education at the Meyers Primary Care Institute. Dr. Baldor is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and he completed his family practice internship and residency at Hahnemann Family Health Center in Worcester. Following three years with the Indian Health Service of New Mexico, he joined the faculty of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Baldor has served as President of the Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians. He authored the textbook Managed Care Made Simple, specifically for medical students and residents, a widely utilized primer on the basics of managed care, healthcare costs, and the evolving U.S, healthcare system. Currently in its 2nd edition (Blackwell Scientific, Inc.), the text has also been translated into Japanese. |
