Summer Volleyball 2018 @ UMass Chan Medical School

Summer Volleyball at UMass

Every year towards the end of April UMass Chan students, faculty & staff get together to kick off the beach volleyball season. The games take place on the two beach volleyball courts behind the old medical school building on the main campus (i.e. Worcester).

Similar to previous years, this year the volleyball games started around the last week of April and there will be one beach volleyball tournament, that is expected to start around mid-July. The winning team from the tournament is given an 38" x 12" trophy that weights 16.1 lbs (7.3 Kg).

The registration for the tournament has already begun and the deadline is 07/20/2018.

The games are usually played throughout the week, 5-8pm.

UMass Chan IT team

Last summer the IT department took part in the volleyball tournament for the second time and we had a great time together. Even though it was our first time playing together as a newly-formed team and we were up against teams that have been playing for at least 3-4 years, we were able to qualify for the quarter-finals.

It was a great experience for all of us!

If you are interested in taking part in this year's summer volleyball tournament you can register here (this is a Google Spreadsheet form - you have to have a Gmail account to be able to login and see the registration). For this year's tournament - if we have enough people from the IT department we will form our own IT volleyball team.
