    The most recent ransomware, currently called Petya or NotPetya, is spreading worldwide.  It is similar to the Wanna.Cry ransomware that wreaked havoc recently. Be on the lookout for Phishing emails. Phishing emails often contain an attachment or a link where a user is asked to provide personal data, such as username, password, or other types of information and are often threatening and time sensitive. Never click on links or attachments that you were not expecting. If you think you may have received a Phishing email and/or have clicked on a suspicious link, or attachment contact the UMMS IT Help Desk at (508) 856-8643
