Simulation is the heart and soul of the inter-professional Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation (iCELS). Patient simulators provide trainees and experienced practitioners guided opportunities to learn, practice and have skills measured.
iCELS has an extensive inventory of manikins, task trainers and surgical simulators reflecting the latest in simulation technology development. Depending on the goals and objectives of the session, patient simulators are used for practice, teaching and assessment. For a complete listing of iCELS simulation equipment, click here.
Hybrid simulation—simulation combining multiple modalities of simulation—enhances the reality of a scenario by recreating the environment, physiology, emotions, and dialogue of a real patient encounter.
In addition to providing training to medical students, residents, practicing clinicians, and nurses, iCELS can serve the interprofessional community and work with trainees in:
Depending on specific programs requirements, iCELS faculty and staff can create "in-house" patient simulation technologies, drawing on our depth of creative resource and technical expertise.
