Each year, we honor our colleagues who achieve an employment milestone in their association with the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS). It is an opportunity to recognize our employees for their service and continued contribution to our mission.
To those employees who have completed 5 years of continuous benefited service with the University during the calendar year, they will receive from their managers a gift and a Certificate of Appreciation in late September.
To those employees that have completed 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 or 40 years of continuous benefited service with the University during the calendar year, we extend an invitation to the annual Employee Service Awards Dinner Celebration. This event is typically held in late fall in the Sherman Center. It features cocktails, a buffet dinner and awards for service. Honorees with 20 years or more of service may bring a guest to the dinner. Employees celebrating 30, 35 or 40 year milestones are also invited to a luncheon with the Chancellor. The event also features the presentation of the annual Chancellor’s Award winners for “Advancing the UMMS Mission” and for “Excellence in Community Service”.
Employees celebrating service milestones of 10 years or more are able to select a gift. Information about this process is mailed to these employees along with a Certificate of Appreciation.
