Hematology / Oncology Division
Hematology/Oncology Division faculty are deeply involved in Undergraduate Medical Education as part of the Department of Medicine via leadership roles as course directors, teachers, collaborators with faculty in other departments, committee members, program developers, and student mentors/advisors.
The Department of Medicine manages the pathophysiology component of Biology of Disease (BOD), a significant course in the 2nd year. In the clinical years, DoM manages the the 12-week Clerkship in Medicine, the 4-week Sub-Internship in Medicine, and a broad array of highly popular 4th-year electives in Medicine subspecialties and Primary Care/General Medicine. Students and faculty have strong support and valuable resources in the Undergraduate Education Coordinator and Vice Chair of Undergraduate Education.
Hematology/Oncology manages the Hematology/Oncology block of the Biology of Disease course, a significant component of the required 2nd year medical student curriculum.
