Disability and Employment Policy
The Mission of CHPR’s Disability and Employment Policy Research Group is to maximize employment opportunities and outcomes for people with disabilities through applied research designed to influence policymakers and key stakeholders involved with health care and employment services for people with disabilities. We do this by evaluating the impact of health, employment, and related programs and services on improving employment outcomes, and designing research to be responsive to emerging policy questions at the state and federal level. Our services also include policy consultation, service improvement strategies and research into efficacy of newly created programs.
Major Projects:
- Massachusetts Medicaid Infrastructure and Comprehensive Employment Opportunities (MI-CEO) grant- The overall goal of the MI-CEO grant is to maximize employment opportunities for people with disabilities who want to work or work more, by improving the Medicaid and employment services infrastructure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Workers' Compensation Health Initiative (WCHI)- The Workers' Compensation Health Initiative was a national program of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that began in October of 1995. Six million dollars was made available to support demonstration and evaluation projects testing innovations in the delivery and financing of the medical care portion of workers' compensation (WC). The goal of these innovations was to improve the quality of care provided to injured workers while containing costs. The website provides an archive of the work of the Initiative and its projects.
