Professor Emeritus

Dr Alexander's research interests are in the area of educational outcome evaluation in clinical and educational settings. As an adult nurse practitioner, Dr. Alexander was instrumental in the development and expansion of the nurse practitioner specialties in adult ambulatory community care and acute critical care at the Graduate School of Nursing.  In 1995, Dr. Alexander co-led the development of the Nurse Practitioner Attending Collaborative Service (NPACS) in partnership with the UMass Memorial Medical Center.  This interdisciplinary team approach to providing care in critical care settings was one of the first successful critical care NP/physician models to demonstrate the role of NPs in critical care settings across the country. A recognized expert on undergraduate and graduate education, she serves as a national curriculum and program evaluation consultant for institutions of higher education.
