Admission 

Admission to the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) is granted by the faculty. The GSN has posted deadlines for the Graduate Entry Pathway program, the Master's programs, the Post-Master's certificates and for the doctoral program. Applicants are required to submit a complete application in advance of posted deadlines. Applicants may continue to be accepted after the posted deadline if space is available. Applications are considered as soon as they are complete. Once an application is complete, qualified applicants are interviewed. The completed application and interview evaluation is then reviewed by the Academic Standards and Admissions Committee, which recommends applicants for acceptance by the full faculty.

All students registering for courses at the University of Massachusetts Medical School/GSN must be positively identified. In order to establish positive identification, students must present a government issued picture ID and verification of social security number. The acceptable documents to establish positive identification a

1. United States social security card issued by the Social Security Administration.

                                                                       AND

2. a) Driver’s license or ID card issued by a state or outlying possession of the United States provided it contains a photograph and information such as name, date of birth, gender and address.

                                                          OR

b) ID card issued by the by federal, state or local government agencies or entities, provided it contains a photograph and information such as name, date of birth, gender and address.

Students unable to provide verification of their social security number must present two government issued picture IDs at the time of registration. Verification of social number must be completed within thirty days of registration.

Return a complete application packet (minus GRE scores) prior to:

Graduate Entry Pathway: January 15, 2009

Pre-Master's Pathway: April 3, 2009

Traditional Master's Pathway: April 3, 2009

Post-Master's Certificate Program: April 3, 2009

PhD Program: March 1, 2009

DNP Doctor of Nursing Practice Program: May 1, 2009
