MD-PhD Student, Bharath Nath, Presents at American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases 2009 Annual Conference

Bharath Nath, an MD-PhD student who recently completed his dissertation in the lab of Gyongyi Szabo MD PhD, presented a talk on his dissertation work at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases 2009 Annual Meeting in Boston, MA. The abstract, titled 'Hypoxia Inducible Factors Mediate Lipid Accumulation in Alcoholic Liver Disease" was selected via a competitive process as the opening talk in a session on alcohol related liver disease. The Liver Meeting, the largest professional forum for hepatologists, hosted over 7,000 attendees from the US and around the World. Bharath Nath has since returned to complete the medical portion of the MD-PhD Program. He is supported by an NRSA Kirschstein F30 fellowship for MD-PhD students from the National Institutes of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
