Medical School is Finalist for National Award

In recognition of its progress on a range of sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives, UMass Medical School has been named a finalist for the 2014 Second Nature Climate Leadership Award, an affiliated program of the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). This is the second year in a row UMass Medical School has been named a national finalist.

Second Nature, a national nonprofit that works to create a healthy, just and sustainable society by transforming higher education, will formally recognize UMMS on the ACUPCC and Second Nature websites on April 14.

In tandem with the Second Nature award process, UMMS will submit a video that promotes the campus’ mission and sustainability initiatives. Members of the public will be able to vote for their favorite video in each of five Carnegie classifications. UMMS will be competing in the special focus institution class. Voting takes in place April, so stay tuned for an advanced peek at the Medical School’s video and more information on how and when to vote.
