The Center for Mindfulness invites all UMMS employees to participate in the nationally-acclaimed Stress Reduction Program for a deeply discounted fee of $150. The program is designed to increase participants’ concentration and focus, teach them to respond to stress more effectively, increase resiliency and enhance creativity. The Walk to Cure Cancer’s annual Kick Off Breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, at the Lazare Research Building on the UMass Medical School Campus. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the breakfast will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Learn more about the Walk to Cure Cancer and how you can make a difference as a team leader, volunteer or walker. The Greater Worcester Farmer’s Market returns to the Worcester campus on Tuesday, July 6, at 1 p.m. In addition to favorite returning vendors who will be offering their usual array of fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, maple syrup and flowers, a new vendor will be selling farm-fresh cheese and yogurt. The market will be here Tuesdays through October.
The new University Campus Child Care Center will open this summer in the Shaw Building located at 419 Belmont Street. This state-of-the-art center will feature beautifully designed age appropriate classrooms for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old, indoor gross motor play spaces and a new playground.
